Gifting Etiquette
Gifts. We use them to motivate, to compensate, even to dominate and control. We use them to demonstrate love, to teach to secure a relationship, to demonstrate our knowledge and sophistication and extend our personal power. We also use them to help others, to express goodwill and to provide cheer.
Used in both our personal and business lives, gifts are essentially about relationships. They can establish a relationship, move a relationship off dead center, transform it or even end it.
Many times, the spontaneous gift, the unexpected gift, the one without a specific reason is the gift of the heart and the best kind of gift. No matter what the gift, the true meaning is the love or thought that it expresses.
